Whimsical Wooded Wedding

Lauren and Noah’s wedding at Lavonia Crest was a rustic wonderland. Lavonia Crest is found underneath the rolling hills of Roan Mountain and is the perfect place for all types of weddings.
Photographer,Abby Leighanne, was able to capture the moments that made this wedding beautiful from the beginning to end. Lauren and Noah wanted the day to be about being with the people they loved the most. Lauren’s father officiated the ceremony, and both bride and groom had eleven close friends surrounding them as they took their vows. From the antique mismatched chairs to the bridesmaids picking out the dresses themselves, this day was centered on an evening of fun and celebrating their love for each other, their friends, and their family. The wild flowers added a touch of color to the wooded backdrop and the vintage details made this wedding a southern girls dream. For the reception, guests were invited to stay and partake in the fun, including corn hole, dancing, and even popcorn.
The beautiful meadow against the setting sky made this the perfect backdrop for their wedding day.

A Wedding on Top of the World

On this dreary day, our spirits were lifted when we came across this simple, yet elegant, Roan Mountain elopement! Roan Mountain stands 6,285 feet on the Tennessee-North Carolina border and is becoming one of the most famous adventure destinations in Western North Carolina. With its heightened popularity, we have seen more and more weddings take place on the Roan.

Katy, owner of Katy Sergent Photography, captured Josh and Holly’s intimate mountain wedding so beautifully.

Katy said on a Wednesday evening, they met up at Carver’s Gap on Roan Mountain and hiked up to the balds with the officiant.

They found a spot on the Bald for the ceremony with amazing panoramic views, which Katy later found out that it was the exact spot that Josh had proposed to Holly!  Months later, the two said yes to forever, while staring out into forever….literally.

Fall Wedding at Smithmore Castle

A castle that sits upon 121 acres that overlooks the Blue Ridge Mountains is beauty in its self. Then, when you had the beauty of a wedding, you are bound to have a truly breathtaking event.

The Smithmore Castle is located in Spruce Pine, North Carolina and was the venue that Travis and Ashley chose for their October wedding. Our favorite thing about having your wedding at the Smithmore Castle is the simplicity of the decor. The beautiful landscape and design of the castle makes you have to worry less on decor and more on what really matters!

Kaela and Toby danced, cried happy tears, and loved every second of being surrounded by their loved ones. When the clock struck 11:00 pm they said goodbye while everyone threw snow as they departed.
